Job Description
We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Designer to join our team for an exciting Civilization project aimed at developing 9 mini-games and improving the FTUE (First-Time User Experience) and onboarding process for the Western version of a popular title already released in China. This role requires a deep understanding of FTUE, player onboarding, and the ability to drive key performance indicators (KPIs) in the mobile gaming space. The successful candidate will collaborate closely with our European team to ensure seamless integration and optimal performance of these features.
Responsibilities:
- FTUE & Onboarding Design: Lead the design and optimization of the FTUE and onboarding experience for Western audiences, ensuring smooth player progression, engagement, and retention.
- Mini-Game Development: Design and conceptualize 9 engaging and thematic mini-games that align with the Civilization project's core gameplay and enhance the overall player experience.
- Collaboration: Work closely with the European-based team to ensure daily collaboration and synchronization of design efforts. Full availability during European working hours is essential.
- Metric Analysis: Monitor and analyze game metrics, including user retention, engagement, and conversion rates, to identify areas for improvement and to guide design decisions.
- Strategy Game Experience: Apply your understanding of strategy game mechanics to create compelling game design elements that resonate with the target audience.
- F2P Expertise: Leverage your experience in free-to-play (F2P) mobile game design to drive monetization strategies that align with player satisfaction and engagement.
- User Feedback Integration: Gather and incorporate feedback from players and stakeholders to refine the FTUE and onboarding processes, ensuring they meet the needs of the Western market.
Required skills:
- Experience: Proven track record of designing and delivering successful FTUE and onboarding experiences for F2P mobile titles, with a portfolio demonstrating your impact on game performance.
- Strong Unreal Engine 4/5 expertise/background.
- Deep understanding of F2P mobile game design principles: including the ability to analyze and influence KPIs.
- Experience with strategy games, particularly in designing engaging and scalable game mechanics.
- Collaboration: Strong ability to collaborate across teams, with experience working in cross-functional and geographically distributed environments.
- Location: Preferably located in Europe to ensure full availability during European working hours.
- Communication Skills: Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English, with the ability to articulate complex design concepts clearly and concisely.
- Adaptability: Ability to adapt design strategies based on user feedback, cultural differences, and regional preferences.
